After failing miserably with my attempts to finish the top of the car, I found a Pro to do the work, and I acted as a 'helper'. This will be the only Auburn that I know of that has a solid, completely finished Sheet Metal top. The 1933 "Salon" Cars had Painted tops up to the "Cut out", but I dislike that look on old cars. I am curious to see how this looks when complete at the ACD reunion.
Here are a few photos of the work in progress. Aug 2016
First, we made a foam pattern so we could visualize the new top, and then transferred the foam shape to wood for our "buck"
Kent Panel Passenger side
This compound curve was easier to make in two pieces (both sides)
Tacked together. It still needs much work, but the overall shape is coming together.
Here you can see the form or "Buck" to keep the radius (Crown) consistent
A Good view of the nearly flat "Low Crown" panel
It looks flat in this view, but it really is not!
